Kony has been interest in people in early March 2012, when a 30-minute documentary was banned from the internet by filmmaker Jason Russell ltory leading companies Invisible Children. The intention of releasing this film was the reason to pay attention to Kony in order to increase the involvement of the United States. The film was viewed more than 80 million times on March 17. Flock and the Toronto Star said the hope is to increase publicity by calling Kony overnight huge poster campaign, which took place on April 20, 2012. Where there have been involved number of volunteers from around the world, all they had to do was by finding the informations in Kony in 2012 a movie and do what the ask. When Invisible Children came back home from Uganda they though if govment would knew, would they do something to stop him. But everyone in Washington they have talked with they said that there is no way that the United States ever get involved in a conflict of national security.

On March 23, 2012, the African Union announced that 5000 will be sent soldiers to hunt for rebel leader Joseph Kony to catch a group of LRA responsible for the 2600 killing of civilians since 2008.
