Wet Magazine

First The Wet magazine publication was in 1970 - 80's. The magazine was founded by Leonard Koren in 1976. The idea for the magazine Grew out of the work which he did at the time what he called the art swimming on the heels of the party he threw to the Pico Burnside bath. As Kristine McKenna, music editor for WET wrote: "The world was crying out to the magazines of the bath When Leonard Koren Introduced the Wet magazine in 1976, however, Koren had imagination and courage to create your own world, and this is exactly what he did with Wet. bath Gourmet Magazine ". WET includes a range of cultures and was widely known with the use of graphics. He started as a simple single activist which included graphics and text sought from friends and acquaintances, production and circulation of the magazine has increased over the years. Its content has also evolved to cover a wider area of the story gained in Los Angeles. Gain the attitude emerging at the same time as Punk, but with its own aesthetic. Because design problems often result solutions were improvised on the spot. The layout and design of graphic styles intensify was later known as New Wave and post-modern. Tibor Kalman, president of M&Co wrote in a letter WET: '' That is one of the bridge important and well-designed magazines in the U.S. history of design. " Contributing photographers were included Eric Blum, Moshe Brakha, Guy Fery, Jim Ganzer, Brian Hagiwara, Brian Leatart, Jacques-Henri Latrigue, Dana Levy, Claude Mougin, Beverly Parker, Lisa Powers, Herb Ritts, Matthew Rolston, Raul Vega, Guy Webster, and Penny Wolin. WET also used a work of art Rip Georges, Matt Groening, Jim Heimann, Thomas Ingalls, Kim Jones, Jayme Odgers, The Futzie Nutzle Ono, Gary Panter, Peter Shire, John Van Hamersveld and Teruhiko Yumura and Bob Zoell.

Magazine which in its own front cover uses different techniques such as computer or ordinary photographs of known people as the fresh faces as well as graphics and art techniques. Colours are often muted sometimes tho are very bright, depending on the colour of the art work that the artist chooses. Magazine, as in every front cover, the logo is visible on the upper left corner of the changing colours, depending on the image used as the main cover. What really impressed me is that the magazine hasn’t present much of the text, which usually should represent what is on the following pages so that the audience know what they are buying. Sometimes it is visible but very little magazine who gives no specific information.

As for me, the magazine sometimes has its good and bad designs, I see that the producer has a very distinct and different styles, depending on the front cover of every magazine, but each magazine should contains something that is the combine of their own logo. A few of its design seems worthy of attention but I'm not sure if this is something in my style, something of what I would of wanted to be based my final outcome on.
